Au lendemain de la tuerie de trente-trois civils dans la localité de Beu-Mamove, l’administrateur militaire du territoire de Beni s’est rendu sur les lieux du drame ce samedi matin. Objectif : s’imprégner de la situation et adresser un message d’apaisement à la population endeuillée.
Dès son arrivée, le colonel Charles Ehuta Omeonga a constaté l’ampleur de la tragédie qui a frappé cette communauté. L’autorité territoriale s’est entretenue avec les familles des victimes, la société civile locale ainsi que des chefs coutumiers, leur exprimant ses sincères condoléances et l’entière solidarité de l’État congolais.
Au-delà de la compassion, cette visite éclair marque un signal fort : celui de la détermination des autorités à restaurer la sécurité et la paix dans cette région secouée par une insécurité chronique depuis plus d’une décennie.
Les ADF déguisés en Wazalendo accusés
Des rebelles de l’ADF se faisant passer pour Wazalendo sont pointés du doigt pour cet énième massacre dans le territoire de Beni. L’administrateur a saisi cette occasion pour donner des instructions fermes aux forces de sécurité, leur demandant d’intensifier les opérations de recherche et d’arrêter les auteurs de ces violences pour qu’ils soient traduits devant les juridictions compétentes.
Le colonel Ehuta Omeonga Charles a dénoncé la présence de certains éléments Wazalendo dans ce secteur, les accusant de collaborer avec les ADF pour tuer les civils et piller leurs biens. Il a insisté sur la nécessité d’une collaboration étroite entre la population et les forces de l’ordre, afin de dénoncer tout criminel et mettre un terme à ce cycle de violences qui dure depuis trop longtemps.
Appel au soutien et à l’espoir
La population de Beu-Mamove et du territoire de Beni en général peut compter sur le soutien continu de l’administration militaire pour restaurer la sérénité et reconstruire l’espoir.
Le bilan provisoire fait état de 33 personnes décapitées à la machette. Les enquêtes se poursuivent dans les champs avoisinants afin de déterminer le nombre exact de victimes de ce nouveau massacre.
Un drame dans un contexte de déplacement de populations
Ce massacre survient à un moment critique, alors que de nombreux habitants des zones occupées par la rébellion de l’AFC/M23 s’étaient récemment déplacés vers la région de Beni, à la recherche de sécurité.
